Cinnamon toast (not crunch) at Comet Cafe

Cinnamon toast at Comet Cafe

Unless you are from Milwaukee and have eaten brunch on the East Side, you will not know what Comet Cafe is. But I felt the spot was worth a post after discovering a very interesting option on their brunch menu this past weekend. Along with the ubiquitous white and wheat, the locally focused cafe offers cinnamon toast! I ordered it with my spinach and mushroom omelette, expecting a generic slice of store-bought cinnamon raisin bread, but what came was 4 slices of fresh buttered toast with a sprinkling of cinnamon. A pleasant surprise, and great alternative to sating sweet tooth brunch cravings with a side of pancakes or waffles. Yum. Comet Cafe, 1947 N. Farwell Ave., Milwaukee, 414. 273.7677

  1. I love Comet Cafe, although I have only been there once. Love that you were excited about cinnamon toast. I remember eating that as a child. Of course, now I want some.
